ONE's ANETA HLADIKOVA out of competition

Aneta Hladikova, Elite Woman from Czech Republic, broke her wrist at round 5 of the European Indoor Championship in Zwolle, Holland. While leading she hit a jump with her front wheel and landed on her wrist. In 2 weeks Aneta may get plates in her wrist to reconstruct the complicated fracture.

Aneta had just signed a 3 year contract with the ONE KENDA BMX racing team. She’s a former World Champion and is the 2005 European number 2 and World number 4 in 20” Elite Women.

We hope Aneta will recover soon and can get back to what she loves most: BMX.

Formula pros invade Guthrie, OK. By press release

Guthrie, Oklahoma Formula Elite riders dR Donny Robinson and Amanda Geving made the trek to Guthrie, Oklahoma for the ABA’s Sooner Nationals this past weekend. All-in-all it was a successful weekend for Factory Formula with Geving and Robinson putting up some great numbers when all was said and done.

dR’s luggage made it in time this weekend so he was suited up and ready to go for Pro practice Friday evening. There were a lot of crashes this weekend in the Pro ranks taking out Jason Richardson, Bubba Harris, Mike Moeller and Danny Caluag to name a few. BUT, for the first weekend in a while, dR wasn’t one of them and stayed on his bike, and when that happens, you know Donny will definitely be found on the podium.

Round 3 of the 2006 ABA Pro series was held this past weekend at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. With what may have been the best ABA built track in years, the Sooner Nationals made for some intense racing action. Unfortunately, with a technical and jump filled track, there are crashes and injuries. Jason Richardson was a victim of a major injury this weekend, as he landed on a rider who was unable to jump the 2nd set of doubles in the Pro section, causing Jason to have a major crash and break his femur. We wish Jason a speedy Recovery and hope to see him and Brandon Meadows back on the race track as soon as possible. Randy Stumpfhauser and Kyle Bennett were both in Guthrie and here is how they finished up:

The third stop on the ABA Pro Series tour touch down this weekend at the Sooner Nationals in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Once again there were BIG Pro rider counts, a excellent track and big, big money on the line, the racing was nothing short of spectacular. By the end of the weekend the ABA PRO ranks had some new faces on top of the PRO podium in Women, Vet, Cruiser, A and AA classes. Here’s quick look at the weekend.

Women Pro was won by KRYSTAL HIME on Saturday taking her second win of the season. While Redline’s KIMBERLY HAYASHI took her turn on top the PRO podium with her third win this season on Sunday.

AA PRO is really starting to heat up and it’s still early in the season. The Sooner National is the third round of the ABA PRO Series events, and we have already see five different winners. How’s that for excitement?

The final round of the European BMX indoor series took place in Zwolle, The Netherlands over the weekend. The track actually had big and steep berms and the jumps were decent too for a temporary track. In Junior Men, Martijn Scherpen (Netherlands) doubled while in Elite men it was Holland's Raymon van de Biezen who won on Saturday. Manuel de Vecchi (Italy) scored most points in Elite men with a 2nd on Saturday and a win on Sunday.

Jason Richardson breaks femur in the Guthrie Pro Section

Breaking a femur is no joke. Just ask Brandon Meadows who recently snapped his for the second time. New victim to the injury list is HARO's AA pro Jason Richardson who crashed badly at the ABA Sooner National in Guthrie and broke the big bone.

J-Rich was choppered to the hospital where his rehab starts. It might be a while before Jason starts pedaling again and we wish him a speedy recovery.

The NBL RM59 Tropical challenge race is taking place in Puerto Rico this weekend. A whole bunch of BMX pros made it over to race and hang out. Robert de Wilde won 3 out of 4 classes. Congrats Afro Bob!

FORMULA BICYCLES SIGNS ELITE RIDER AMANDA GEVING

El Cajon, California, Formula Bicycles announced today that it has reached an agreement with Elite Women’s rider and ABA World Champ Amanda Geving. “I have been friends with Amanda and her dad Bill for a while now,” stated Formula owner Will Rells, “I’m really excited to finally get to work with both of them. She definitely meets the high standards that we have set for the Formula Factory team.” After a successful amateur career that included, just in 2004, 78 national main event wins and 11 of 14 possible titles, Amanda decided to make the jump to the Pro class in ‘05.

A little background...
I must admit, the idea of one on one BMX racing is hardly innovative. There have been various similar events held in the US over the past few years where pros race against each other one on one on purpose built technical and tight tracks. From the Gravity Games, to the John Purse sprint race, to double downs, to Stumpy's sprint trails. We have all seen photos or even footage of this unique style of racing. Where BSX is different however is that it's primary objective is to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
