By hosting the first ever round of the UCI BMX Flatland World Cup, Hiroshima couldn’t give a better present to the large numbers of Japanese riders of this discipline. Once again, Jean-William Prevost and Alex Jumelin went head to head and judges had a hard time choosing who would reach the podium. Finally, the very creative style of Alex made the difference and there is no doubt the trophy will take pride of place back at his BMX Flatland Academy in France. Viki Gomez made a very technical run with a great use of his back wheel, enhanced by some pretty barspins. But it was Matthias Dandois’s magical run which really wowed everyone. He added a brand new trick and completed his run flawlessly without ever putting a foot on the floor. After the event he said "the crowd made it, you can feel they know what they see as the Japanese scene is crazy for Flatland rider. The season couldn’t start better to be on the podium with two of my best friends"
