If BMX had 100 riders like Matthias Dandois, the popularity of BMX would rise to a bigger level. Matthias' spirit, drive and enthusiasm is unheard of. He gets the attention he deserves but also takes the opportunities that are needed to get in the picture. Sometimes it might be out of the comfort zone, but for Matthias it lead to acting in a movie and getting the cover of GQ magazine. It is hard to keep up with Matthias and we're stoked he found some time to get back to us to answer some questions. Last contest you entered: Chimera Games in Japan end of February 2020
Alberto Moya has the balance of a ballerina but on a bike. The way he manages to perform a trick on such slow speed is incredible and makes many flatland riders jealous. Where others spin fast, Alberto moves slow which is the creative style the Spaniard brings to the floor. It puts the crowd into a trance. Learn more about Alberto below.
Last contest you entered: Masters of Quarentine. It was this contest with the BMX home-trainer. It was so fun...
Last contest you won: ...and I ended up winning :)
What can we say about Tom van den Bogaard that hasn't already been said? He's our local hero representing Aarle-Rixtel at BMX events all around the world. 2020 has been slow on events but Tom keeps himself busy. Tom likes to ride new spots and it's always a pleasure for the eye to see Tom rip it up. Here's his Last Call... Q&A, to see what he has been up to lately.
Last package you received from a sponsor? Tom van den Bogaard: Last package was from Monster Energy with some new flavour and ice cofee.
Last time you went to the gym? Tom van den Bogaard: Can’t remember haha
Last advice you got from a good friend? Tom van den Bogaard: Just don’t case or land flat...
Last rider who taught you a trick? Tom van den Bogaard: Not sure haha
It's hard to find a more motivated rider than Jean-William Prevost. Flatland riders in general are the ones putting in the most time on their bike. Riding has become their religion and the urge to go to church (their flatland spot) is there constantly. The creative mind is used to come up with tricks that have never been done before that fits their style. Dub is a master in it. Last call for Dub right here......
Last flight you took? Jean-William Prevost:I went to Florida and came right back around mid-March when things were getting out of whack.
Last nice dinner you had? Jean-William Prevost:Not so healthy.

Some riders can simply do it all. They're good at anything without trying, or at least it looks like it comes naturally to them. Dennis Enarson is one, but the Australian version is Boyd Hilder for certain. Park, Street, Bowls, and just let's throw Dirt in there for good measure, as we're sure he would shred on that terrain too. Check what Boyd has been up to lately by reading his Last Call.... list below.
Last car you bought? Boyd Hilder: 2000 Hiace 3 years ago for 3 grand. Still so stoked on it.
PAULTJE PILS. We've almost taken on Paul Thoelen as a Dutchman. He's here way too often to be considered 100% German. In fact, when he's home, he lives half an hour from the border and boy-o-boy we would love for him to join the Dutch family. But BMX family is close enough to continue with the good times with Paul, his brother Max and his parents. Paul is that rider that goes higher than 95% of the riders at the contest and makes everything look good. A pleasure to watch. Last call for alcohol? Don't forget to mention that to Paultje Pils.
Last package you received from a sponsor? Paul Thoelen: 3 days ago. Love you Vans!
Last time you went to the gym? Paul Thoelen: I actually had a full week of training last week haha. Usually I’m not really into gyms.
Last advice you got from a good friend? Paul Thoelen: To go to bed after falling asleep at the bonfire.
Last contest you entered? Paul Thoelen: Red Bull Uncontained in November last year.
There are riders out there that can't be stopped. They're the first to start riding and the last to get off the ramps. Irek Rizaev is one of those riders. For Irek this pandemic is hard to deal with. He can't sit still. He wants to ride. He wants to travel. He wants to have dinner with more than 2 of his friends. A little catch up with the Russian below in the Last Call... Q&A.
Last contest you entered: Irek Rizaev: It was 27th of June, but it was small local and only for 15 riders. Because of the pandemic. The last big one was Simple Session.
Last contest you won: Irek Rizaev: It was this contest I won at the opening of a big extreme park at my home city.
Last package you received from a sponsor: Irek Rizaev: It was around two weeks ago. Package with the frame of my own brand REDBMX.
Last Call.....with Sven Avemaria. Sven's from Germany but no stranger to traveling. Barcelona was his latest flight. How convenient would it have been to have a BMX hotspot that close. 30 years ago, when BMX was near dead, we have to go to San Diego to meet up with BMX riders to ride in good weather during the winter. Oh well, good times anyway. Seems like GT sponsored Sven is chasing the good times too.
Last package you received from a sponsor: My new GT BIKES parts to build up my new bike. Thanks so much again Jeff Z and Ben Ward!
Last Call....with Jose Cedano. Jose's from Chile and trying to make things work for himself as a pro BMX rider. Not easy as one can imagine, but if there's a will, there's a way. He currently calls Woodward West his home park so there are worse places in the world to be stuck at. Learn more about Jose in the following Q&A. Proost maat!
Last contest you entered: UCI worlds in China 2019
Last contest you won: Last year’s anual contest at @zignalpark
Last package you received from a sponsor: I got a little care package with softgoods from The Shadow Conspiracy a few days ago, so shoutout to them!
Last time you went to the gym: Last night haha
Last advice you got from a good friend: Make my daily calendar so I’m more focused on everything, don’t lose more Time haha
Last rider who taught you a trick: Probably Kevin Peraza, he tried teaching me 360 to foot jams I still haven’t done it but it’s on the way haha.
Last Call.... We haven't seen the last of Gary Young yet. Around the year 2000 the DirtBros saw this San Diego local come up. That is 20 years ago now and Gary still shreds on top level. We went through the list with the Vans/Sunday/ODSY rider. See his answers below.
