American BMX Company (ABC), is excited to announce the acquisition of Race Inc. Quality BMX Products, from Chris Hancock. ABC will relaunch the brand with an eye on pushing the limits of BMX innovation and design. ABC, based in Montreal, is owned by Marc Côté, a businessman and entrepreneur with a background in robotic engineering, film and television VFX. Like many BMX company owners dating back to the sport’s beginning, Côté is the parent of kids who race BMX. He also raced in the 1980s, coincidentally, on a Race Inc. RA-7, which he still has.
“Life takes us all on a ride. But life’s many obligations can pull us away from our roots. My roots are in BMX. As a father, I had the pleasure of watching my boys riding, jumping and racing BMX bikes. Watching them ride, my own past came back to me,” Côté said.
“Being around BMX again reignited my passion and, more important, reminded me that my 10 years in BMX gave me more than fun. BMX fostered in me things I have carried into every aspect of my life—my

Paul's Boutique BMX: With only 10 Dutch riders remaining in 1995 and no BMX Shop in the country I decided it was a good idea to start a BMX Shop to keep those 10 riders on their bikes.
What was your first location like?
Paul's Boutique BMX: In my backyard I built a small shed to put the bikes on display, a small shed for Parts/Maintenance/hangout where I had to get my motorcycle out first before a customer could see the parts etc. hahaha. Then first floor in the house was for clothing en the second floor was the

FBM started out as a crew. Just some friends stoked on bikes. Through our curiosity and bike riding fueled smiles, we ended up as a full fledged bike company. Unfortunately, as of January 1st we have closed the machine shop and FBM will no longer manufacture bikes. This has been an unbelievably tough decision and we explored multiple options to maintain business as usual but we simply aren’t able to keep moving forward under existing model. That being said, we can’t thank everyone enough for being a part of FBM and helping us get this far in the world. The FBM Machine Shop opened in 2001 and built some of the best parts in BMX for 18 amazing years. You helped us build fun and share the message of community, positivity and DIY good times and we appreciate the support more than I even know how to express.

AMain.com, Inc has acquired certain assets of XP Innovations LLC who has owned and operated Dan’s Comp, The World’s Largest BMX Store, since 2005. Notably, AMain has purchased the domain and trademarks of Danscomp.com. Preparations are underway to quickly onboard a number of key brands in the freestyle segment and bring back the Race Category before the 2020 season gets underway.
Making the decision during the summer to identify someone to carry on the legacy of Dan’s Comp was a difficult decision for XP Innovations owners, who were also some of the longest tenured employees of Dan’s. Although multiple parties expressed interest, they chose to leave the brand in the hands of AMain as it was important to them that the new owners were vested in the industry and had a passion for BMX. Over the last several years, AMain.com, the parent company of Performance Bike, Bike Nashbar and AMain Cycling, has proudly supported a national level BMX Race Team, local racers of Silver Dollar BMX, and were instrumental in the construction of Chico’s public pump track.
